Where Our Help Comes From
12 3 23 HFL
December 3, 2023

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2

I once knitted the sky. Each day, I watched the sky to determine what color I should use for the next two rows of my sky scarf. It took a year, two rows at a time, to knit the sky scarf. During this time of waiting and watching the sky and it’s changing face, I was reminded that Jesus will come again someday in the clouds and in glory. This Advent, as we watch and wait for the coming Savior, we are to be about the business of going into all the world sharing the good news; Jesus forgives all our sins and gives eternal life. Aging has the advantage of years of practice waiting. So today, watch the sky and pray with me “Come Lord Jesus, Come.” We eagerly await the return of our heavenly king.

Nancy Rapp
St. Louis, MO

Come Lord Jesus, come to us this Advent season. Amen.

Reflect: Look at the sky and imagine our Lord coming again in the clouds!

Read: Revelation 1:7-8 and Acts 1:6-11
