The first year of grief is often the most challenging for someone mourning a loss. As they learn to navigate a world forever changed by the absence of their loved one, it is not uncommon for grieving individuals to suffer physically, mentally, and spiritually during this time. Each day can bring a tumult of emotions, including waves of sorrow, anger, and confusion. Birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays are especially difficult, serving as stark reminders of what has been taken away.
The goal of the Grief Ministry at Worship Anew is to help individuals and congregations walk alongside those aging adults and their caregivers who are grieving, reminding them they are loved and not alone, that God “is father of the fatherless and protector of the widows” (Psalm 68:5 ESV), and that He “is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18 ESV).
Individuals enrolled in the Grief Ministry will receive care items at critical times during the initial year of bereavement, including a care package, handwritten notes and cards on special anniversaries and occasions, information on what to expect during the grieving process, and small comfort items. For other questions, please visit our FAQ section.
If you would only like to send a care package, please visit this page to complete that form.
The form for enrollment into the program will be coming soon.
