For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:10

Very early on in my spiritual development I came across the words of Paul: “For when I am weak, then I am strong.” I have rehearsed those words countless times, in my times of weakness. When I focused on my circumstance, I would become depressed. When I came face-to-face with my dire situation, I felt helpless.

However, when I redirected my focus away from me, away from my condition, away from my fears, etc. and left behind my weaknesses and trusted in the Lord’s strength, it all changed. I could once again move forward. I was not alone. God was, and is, my strength.

A week ago, I had major surgery. I am very weak. However ...

Lord, you are my suffering servant. I will never suffer as you did for me. I am healed by your stripes and open wounds. Thank you! Amen.
