As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
1 Peter 4:10
I am reminded daily that I am aging. I no longer have the energy to be an active volunteer. I have been blessed to discover, however, that I can still use my gifts to serve people. These include family, friends, and neighbors. Doing tasks for them, offering encouraging words, and calling or sending cards to them are ways to help them and share my faith. Being a writer allows me to inspire readers.
I am moving closer to reaching God’s country, but I am surprisingly not sad. Instead, I feel grateful for the time to prepare for it. I strive to be more caring, forgiving, and humble. My soul speaks to me more loudly now. I grow closer to God through prayer.
