Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love ...
Psalm 107:8
I was taught to write a thank you note whenever someone gave me a gift. Sometimes I grumble about how this is a dying custom.
Now I’m wondering how I’ve been doing on thank you notes to my heavenly Father for his gifts. Each new day, a gift, is full of gifts — life, family, friends, the smell of coffee, the beauty of flowers. And the best gift is his grace, knowing he loves me with an eternal love; all these gifts earned by Jesus and not by me.
How do you write a thank you note to God? Martin Luther said it best, in his explanation to the first article of the creed: “... thank and praise, ... serve and obey him.”
