The “C” Diagnosis

June 28, 2024

For all the promises of God find their Yes in him.

2 Corinthians 1:20

The doctor asks, we answer: no pain, no dizziness, no blood. Seems like everything’s OK. Then the pause. Then the “C” word we don’t want to hear — Cancer! Our personal world changes in that instant. Just how many thoughts can one think in a second? Sadness, confusion, anger, this can’t be!

There is someone in our world who doesn’t change and whose name begins with “C” — Christ our savior. This “C” word has healing, courage, and a resurrection hug. Our Lord came as a baby in a human body, grew up, died in that body, and was made alive. He cares for you, body and soul. He is there now and forever.

Elise Koenemann
New Haven, IN

Dear Lord, Jesus Christ, keep my focus on you. Amen.

Reflect: How can I share encouragement with those who are suffering physically or spiritually?

Read: Isaiah 12:2 and Matthew 6:10
