And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.
1 Chronicles 29:13
Some of us have experienced trying to coax a young child to say thank you to someone. Two short words, but they can often be difficult to say. Why do you suppose that is? For many people, shyness comes into play. They may be embarrassed or not like talking to others. Often, this carries over into our relationship with God, and we have difficulty expressing our thanks to him, too.
The Bible verse above is part of a prayer from David. In it, he encourages the people to thank and praise God. And rightly so! Our God is the one who has blessed us with everything we have, including life itself. Our response to him should involve thanksgiving and praise.
