Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial ... he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised ...
James 1:12
The Bible is filled with moments of joy, sorrow, peril, fear, and confusion for God’s people. Recently experiencing a tense night of dangerous storms, menacing clouds, and tornado warnings, I felt a little fear myself! Yet as I re-read God’s promise to be with me in all times, his word brought great comfort and I could relax, thankful for God’s ever-present care. Though I was aware the storm still raged outside, I knew I was in God’s hands.
Jesus’ disciples were also once afraid when a violent storm nearly sunk their fishing boat ... and then they marveled at God’s power as he rebuked and calmed the sea. What a mighty God we serve!
Since Creation, God has been with his people. He remains with you now and forever, as he promised.
