Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.

My greatest blessings in the past 80 years are my great-grandchildren. We have three great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter born this past January. She was recently baptized and was the ninth baby in the family to wear a special, white gown made a long time ago.

She smiled as she and her parents and godparents approached the baptismal font. She smiled again as the pastor took her in his arms and introduced her as a “new sister in Christ.” She was still smiling as she was given back to her parents.

As she grows up and confronts hardships, she will be wrapped in the steadfast love of Christ and her family. We will love her unconditionally, just as Christ loves all of us.
