... Gaze upon the beauty of the Lord ...”
Psalm 27:4
Have you ever looked through a kaleidoscope? To do so you need to hold up the optical instrument close to your eyes, blocking out all light, so you can see the small broken pieces of glass rotating at the end of a tube. As the pieces of colored glass rotate, you see beautiful configurations changing before your eyes.
Worship of our Lord requires us to stay focused. This means blocking out distractions that keep us from seeing the beauty of the Lord, move into a protected arena we call a sanctuary, hear the spoken Word, and stay focused on the hymns and choral selections. When we stay focused in our worship, we will behold the beauty of the Lord in dimensions and understanding we never saw or understood before.

Gracious Lord, help us to remain focused on your divine character and your daily goodness to us. Amen.
Reflect: Where is the best setting for you and the Lord to connect with one another?
