... I will sing and make melody with all my being!
Psalm 108:1
Gregorian chants enlighten. Little ones’ lullabies soothe. Choral hymns uplift. Christmas carols inspire. Joining our voice to musical notes and their energy as they pulse through us is a powerful way to connect with God in our modern world.
Martin Luther, as a singer, composer, and player of lute and flute, tuned into and tapped the rhythms of his time. His appreciation of music as a holy gift motivated him to weave accessible melodies and divine text together. In doing so, he greatly influenced Johann Sebastian Bach and western classical music as well as Protestant faith and devotion.
Tomorrow, may music continue to nourish us and connect us to the Creator’s love and those who share our song.
