And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
Sunny wasn’t a widow, but she was thrilled to read an advance copy of her friend Teresa’s devotional book for widows. Several of her friends had lost husbands, and she knew a resource like this would be helpful.
Sunny never imagined, three months after she read the book, that she’d be one of the widows who needed Theresa’s help and inspiration. Thankfully, God did. In his sovereignty, he provided a compassionate, helpful resource for her, months before she needed it.
Don’t you love this about God? While he doesn’t spare us from every trial and heartbreak, he promises to walk through each season with us. He provides what we need, exactly when we need it.
Sometimes, even before.

Dear Father, when I’m tempted to fear the future, remind me that you’re already there. I will trust in you. Amen.
Reflect: What examples of God’s past care encourages you to trust him for the future?
