“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Psalm 46:10
Serve, Thank, Obey and Praise. Four responses to what God has done for us. I find them easy to recall by thinking S.T.O.P. Surprisingly, the best way to initiate each of these actions is to STOP whatever task is keeping us distracted from thinking about God’s goodness. Instead, bring to mind things that we can do to serve others in his name, thank him for his goodness, obey his word, and praise him for all that he does to awaken these desires in our hearts.
Busy people receive a lot of approval in our culture, but Christian’s know that taking time to be still before God is of greater value than “getting things done.” Slow down. Acknowledge God’s good gifts each day. Pray, praise, and give thanks.

Heavenly Father, help me to take time daily to meet with you. Amen.
Reflect: Have you had a quiet moment with God today?
