Serving With Gladness

Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God!

Psalm 100:2-3a

After almost 12 years as leaders in our church, our head pastor and his wife are leaving our congregation to help struggling churches in our synod. While they were here, he served as head administrative pastor. He was a great preacher and leader. His wife sang in our festival choirs at Christmas, Easter, and July 4th. She was my alto role model, and I made sure to sit near her so I could follow her lead.

I will pray for them as they serve other congregations, and we all wish them well as they serve God in their new roles. Pastor Keith gave many wonderful sermons on serving and praising God. We must remember to serve God as he gives us enabling gifts to do this, such as writing devotions.

Father, please be with our pastors as they serve you. Give them wisdom to help and lead churches through triumphs and struggles. Amen.

Reflect: Think of all the ways God has helped you with struggles in your journey of service to him!
