Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
“I wanna hold you, Mommy, I wanna hold you,” my toddler cried as she ran across the lawn. Her words were twisted, but I knew what she meant. She wanted the comfort and safety of my arms after something had frightened her. I can identify, especially as I age. When I am frightened, ill, or upset, I long to have my Savior’s loving arms around me, so I go to him in prayer. He is always there to calm and comfort. As the familiar hymn says, “In his arms he’ll take and shield thee. Thou wilt find a solace there.”
What a blessing to know that! He is never asleep or far away. His loving care surrounds me night and day, at home and away.
