Procrastinator to Procrastinator

... So that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

I confess that for many years I have practiced an on-and-off habit of procrastination. Most tasks are completed in a very timely manner, but others are put off until just before the deadline. Projects always get completed, deadlines are always met — albeit, sometimes, at the very last minute! Encountering other procrastinators is quite interesting. God nudges me to be especially understanding and very forgiving. God leads us into some situations so we may have empathy and compassion for others who share our maladies or circumstances. Compassion turned into action becomes comfort.

Angela Gielow
St. Charles, MO

Dear Father, help me show kindness to those you put in my path. Amen.

Reflect: Recall times when you “really understood” another person’s situation.

Read: 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 and Luke 1:40-45
