“... Neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:4
Recently my wife had surgery to remove a tumor that was compressing her spine. She had already experienced hip replacement and reverse shoulder surgeries. When the neurosurgeon said this surgery will cause extreme pain, my wife replied, “It can’t be any worse than my earlier surgeries.” Five weeks later she still had a high level of pain. The neurosurgeon told her, “The tumor is completely removed. I’ve never had a patient whose pain didn’t stop at some point.”
While our pain level may seem unbearable, think of the pain Christ went through on the cross. “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities, with his wounds we are healed.”
Because of Christ, we can all look forward to a point/place where all pain stops — in heaven.
