... O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation ...
Psalm 71:18
September 8 is Grandparents Day. My grandparents lived with us during the winter. When I got home from school, I often went upstairs to their bedroom, where my grandpa was usually reading his Bible. In our busy household, he always had time to listen and to care. I would eagerly listen to his stories, including his memories of “the Blizzard of ’88,” when the snow was so deep that they had to dig a tunnel to the barn to feed their horse.
His example helped me develop a life-long love for God’s Word. Now it is our privilege and responsibility to pass on our love for God and his Word — to “tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, ... so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God” (Psalm 78:4-7).
