And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:8
I love the “alls” in this verse. God can make all grace abound, so that we experience all sufficiency in all things at all times. The Psalmist conveys the same idea in different words; “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). Paul carries the thought further in the above verse from Corinthians. Believing that our needs are fully met, we freely serve others with our time and talents. As Paul puts it, we are free to “abound in every good work.” How often in the past I used excuses like, “I just don’t have time or the resources right now.”
These verses say otherwise. My needs are met, so yes, I do have time and talent for others. It’s called overflow.

Heavenly Father, thank you for taking care of my needs so that I can serve others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Reflect: Serve with abandon, knowing God will meet your needs.
