Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast, it is not arrogant or rude.
1 Corinthians 13:7
We’ve all heard 1 Corinthians 13, often called the “love” chapter, but have we taken the words to heart?
Recently I saw a picture of a Post-it Note® that read, “Strive to be able to put your name wherever it says ‘love.’” It was lying on top of a Bible with 1 Corinthians 13 highlighted in yellow. I wondered, “Can I, in all honesty say, “Jane is patient and kind; Jane does not envy or boast; Jane is not arrogant or rude?”
I’m not quite there yet, nor will I ever get there on my own. Only with the help of the Holy Spirit, can I grow into the gospel and grow into these words, taking them to heart.

Dear Lord, teach me to love as you have first loved me. Amen.
Reflect: Write a note as a reminder to pray for help in replacing “love” with your name.
