“Make it new Again, Daddy!”

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Psalm 51:10

Little Gracie squished the play dough shapes she had made with her Daddy. She wanted to make more but the play dough scraps were too lumpy. Her small hands couldn’t smooth out the dough again. “Make it new again, Daddy,” she said.

Just like the play dough, our hearts daily become dirty and lumpy with sin. No matter how we try to make them new again, we fail. But our Loving Father sent his Son, Jesus, to save us from our messy sins. God is always ready to forgive us. Our Lord sends his Holy Spirit to renew our relationship with him and help us live as his forgiven children. We begin each day clean and renewed as a part of his family.

Donna Bobb

Heavenly Father, thank you for making us new again through your Son’s death and resurrection. Amen.

Reflect: Ask the Lord to help you live as his renewed child.
