Life’s Greatest Blemish

That you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish ...

Philippians 2:15

As teenagers, we all tried to cover up a blemish we faced in our lives — pimples. As Seniors, we have tried to cover up two more blemishes — gray hair and wrinkles. And yet, throughout our lives, we have all had an even bigger blemish that no cream or dye could cover up — our sin!

The amazing thing is that God loves us so much that he sent his Son to take away our blemish of sin forever. As the Prophet Isaiah wrote, “Though your sins are
like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” No more disapproval, no more reproach, instead, reconciliation with God, along with a daily renewed life which reflects the kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and salvation that God has given us through Christ.

Stan Tordsen
Stewartville, MN

Dear Father, help me to be your light shining in a blemished world. Amen.

Reflect: Think of a person who needs your kindness, compassion, and forgiveness.

Read: Philippians 2:14-16 and Ephesians 4:32
