Let Us Sing!

... let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

Psalm 95:1

The Psalms are full of praise and thanksgiving to our almighty God, ruler of all nations, giver of all good gifts! Recognizing the Lord’s blessings to us in ordinary daily life, we realize that perhaps one of the greatest gifts from God is that he draws us into the fellowship of all believers through our baptism, the Lord’s supper, and God’s Word in worship with fellow saints. This is where we see, taste, and hear God’s steadfast love and faithfulness. We exalt God with prayers and songs. Sometimes feeling undeserving of his blessings showered down upon myself and all people, what brings great joy is hearing my pastor pronounce “Your sins are forgiven ... go in peace.” God’s gifts are unending!

Denise Seaman

Heavenly Father, how majestic is your name in all the earth! May we receive your gifts with humility, joy, and thanksgiving. Amen.

Reflect: How does the gift of God’s holy word give us comfort and joy?
