I fed you with milk, not solid food, because you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready.
1 Corinthians 3:2
I remember billboards from my childhood that read, “You never outgrow your need for fresh milk.” But many adults do outgrow their need for milk. In fact, 40% of adults are lactose intolerant.
Many youths think they are all grown up at age 18. But through the years we discovered how much we had yet to learn. In our spiritual life, we never outgrow our need to keep on growing in “the knowledge of the truth ... a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life” (Titus 1:1-2 NIV). And we never outgrow our need to keep on sharing the precious truths we have learned from God’s Word, especially the good news that “God ... saved us ... by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior” (Titus 3:4-5).
