Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.
Psalm 119:111
Old Testament believers held God’s Law to be his testimony. Yet God provided a picture of the Gospel, long before Jesus, in the Ark of the Covenant. God covered the Ten Commandments (Law) with the Mercy Seat of grace. Today, we believers joyfully know that Jesus came to be our Savior. “And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son” (1 John 5:11).
The Good News is our heritage and joy. And it’s our privilege to pass it on to family, friends, and fellow citizens. No matter our age, “we also believe, and so we also speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13b). With joyful hearts and the Spirit’s help, we embrace and live out Psalm 119:46, “I will speak of your testimonies.”
