In God’s Waiting Room

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope.

Psalm 130:5

We may live with regrets from the past, and we may fear what awaits us in the future. What can we do to make today different?

I loved the way Pastor Charlie Mueller, Sr. used to say: “Yesterday is history and tomorrow’s a mystery. Today is a gift; that’s why we call it the present!”

Though we can’t undo past mistakes, we can learn from them. While unsure of what the future holds, we can place our faith in Jesus, who died for our sins on the cross, rose from the dead, holds the future in his hands, and gives us today as a gift. Rest assured that he is with us to lead, guide, and help us.

Steve Hess
Fort Myers, FL

Remind me, Father, that you forgive my past, that your Son is here to guide and save me, yesterday, today, and forever. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflect: Take comfort in God’s promises to help us through all that is to come.

Read: Psalm 27:7-14 and James 5:7-11
