I will remember the deeds of the Lord; ... I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds.
Psalm 77:11-12
I open a scrapbook and trace the photos of my childhood. Some of the memories now only exist in photos, but I can still remember rolling in a mud puddle and flying through the air on a rope swing.
How do I recall the deeds of God? I open his “scrapbook,” the Bible. I see God creating a world where his people could live in the joy of his presence. I see sin entering the world; people turning away from God. Yet he remains faithful. I see Jesus Christ dying for the sins of the world and overcoming death. And, I see that God has already filled in some of the pictures of the future when all his children will gather around him in heaven.

Lord God, even if all my memories disappear, remind me of your unfailing love. Amen.
