For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
Decades ago, I scribbled the above verse on a card, one of many required of us to memorize in school. Later, after a dark and difficult time, this verse drew me to the Lord as a beacon of hope, prompting my recommitment to God. Over time, his plan for me included many joy-filled moments and plenty of not- so-joyous times, but always with him and always with hope.
Today I wonder, what’s the plan now, Lord? Though the road looks different, the promise still stands. I figure if I still have a pulse, he still has a plan. No matter what my physical condition, I can continue to love those around me, pray continually, and whatever else the Lord has planned.

Thank you, Lord, for always leading and guiding me until my last breath. Amen.
Reflect: What plans could God have for you right where you are?
