“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
What does Good Friday mean to you? Over the years, I have preached many sermons on Good Friday about what Jesus did for you and me. We would darken the church and many of the services ended with a loud noise depicting the closing of the tomb. Jesus is dead. Yet, we know that he rose three days later, guaranteeing that our sins are forgiven and that we have eternal life. God took this seemingly horrible event and turned it into something that has changed the world. God loves us and wants us to be with him eternally. He knows that each of us has sinned and because of that, deserve eternal damnation. Yet, he looks at us through the cross of Jesus. We have life because of Jesus’ death.

Lord, thank you for sacrificing your Son that we might have life. In Jesus name. Amen.
Reflect: Think back to all the different Good Friday services you have attended.
