Therefore take up the whole armor of God ... to withstand in the evil day, and ... to stand firm.
Ephesians 6:13
Uniforms meet a need in society. Locating a policeman, recognizing safety officers, knowing the person in the white coat is a doctor, are all short cuts to identifying people. It’s different with Christians. Our uniform is the full armor of God: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet fit with readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit. All this, girded by prayer.
But none of this is visible to the world. How will they know we are God’s people? God makes it simple. They will know we are Christians by our love.
So, gird up to withstand the enemy, and then take goodness and kindness to everyone you meet this day. They will know whose you are.

God of love, make us love as you love. Amen.
Reflect: Will others know you are a Christian by your love?
