Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
Mark 10:27
The senior years bring many challenges that can help people grow. One is dealing with health problems. These can result in pain, medical procedures, and changes in housing. Like others, I have experienced these. They have made me braver and more compassionate, patient, and resilient. Another challenge is maintaining a high quality of life despite limitations. This means feeling happy, useful, and fulfilled while being of service to others. I have this goal, as well. Achieving it has required me to be more creative, flexible, and realistic.
Faith, family, and friends have sustained me in life. My favorite Scripture passage has been the verse, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” from Philippians 4:13. God has always been with me.

Dear Lord, thank you for always caring for me. Amen.
Reflect: How can you assist someone in adapting to the changes that aging brings?
