Having gifts that differ according to the grace given us, let us use them.
Romans 12:6a
We were never meant to be passive Christians. As baptized believers we have been equipped for Christ’s kingdom work.
The Holy Spirit does the equipping. Each baptized believer is given at least one spiritual gift that is aligned with a ministry they are called to serve in. These gifts are identified in Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4, and 1 Peter 4.
In answer to a popular question — “Why am I here on earth?” — it is to serve others. We are to be the hands, feet, and mouth of Christ in today’s world. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we are to be Christ’s kingdom builders.
Jesus gave all for a dying world. To us is given his on-going work though the Spirit and the gifts he gives.
