Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands ...
Psalm 90:17
My husband can’t cut grass with a broken hand. But he can allow our grandson an opportunity to help and teach him how to adjust the mower’s cutting height. When an illness resulted in a hospital stay, our friend Robert couldn’t build ramps or repair steps. But he can share Christ wherever he is. And he did — with one of the nurses. Physical limitations present challenges, but when we seek God’s guidance, unexpected blessings surface. Perhaps we can’t join a mission trip or paint a house, but we can join the prayer team. Even when we can’t, we can. We can pray and ask God to “establish the work of our hands” even when our work changes. What joy it is to discover new “cans” as we seek to serve.

Dear Father, guide me to serve in new, surprising ways. Amen.
Reflect: Watch for creative ways to turn can’t into can as you serve others.
