Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.
Colossians 3:16
I ripped open the envelope with Traci’s return address label, realizing it held treasures. In the note my friend had tucked in a card, she congratulated me on my recent success, shared some verses of Scripture, and promised continued prayers. Encouragement and hope flowed from my dear friend’s words leading me to praise God for her friendship and his work in our lives.
How much more do these blessings flow from letters penned long ago by divinely inspired Scripture writers (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Each day when we open the Bible, God’s letter to us, we discover the treasure of hope and find the encouragement we need to praise, trust, and obey our heavenly Father.

Father, each day when I read your Word as a letter to me, speak to me and lead me to worship you. Amen.
Reflect: Look for hope and encouragement as you read the Bible this week.
