... He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So, we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear ...”
Hebrews 13:5-6
Early in my ministry, a young missionary shared Hebrews 13:5-6 with me. She said that it helped her through many difficult times in her life. From that point on, this passage became my favorite because I, too, found times when I was afraid or felt all alone. I would then remember this passage and who made the promise. The promise was from God himself. I am not alone. He is with me. He promises to never leave me nor forsake me. Because of that promise, he took away any fear and enabled me to face anything. His promise is as true today as it was when I began my ministry. So, if you ever feel afraid or alone, remember the Lord is with you and you need not be afraid.

Lord, give me the ability to trust in your promise. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Reflect: When you have felt afraid or alone, how did God take that fear away?
