For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand ...
Ephesians 2:10
It’s fascinating to watch a glassblower, a potter, or a metalworker fashion objects for a variety of purposes. Like them, our heavenly Father fashioned each of us with a variety of skills and interests, specifically for the works he has in mind for us to do.
But there’s more! We continue to be fashioned spiritually, “in Christ Jesus.” As we engage in his Word, we’re not just growing in knowledge. We’re also being formed in our character and in wisdom. This forming is meant to affect our actions, another way he prepares us for those good works he planned for us. Our formation continues until that day that he brings us, fully formed, to live with him forever.

Father, please show me the tasks that you shaped me for today. Amen.
Reflect: Write down one or two ways God has been shaping you lately.
