Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast ...”
John 21:12
One morning after the Resurrection, Jesus prepared a seaside breakfast of grilled fish and fresh bread. As the disciples climbed from their fishing boats and eventually recognized him, surely smiles spread across their tired faces. After the meal, they shared conversations with Jesus and later fulfilled the mission he had given them.
We can enjoy breakfast — or any other meal — with Jesus. Alone or in the company of others, we can welcome him to our table. Whether we have prayer, Bible study, or conversation, Jesus is present at our tables to guide and enrich us, just as he did with the disciples on the seashore. Jesus’ invitation to dine with us continues for eternity (Revelation 3:20).

Dear Father, thank you for joining me at the table and wherever I go throughout the day. Remind me of your presence and your guidance. Amen.
Reflect: What reminder of God’s presence can you place at your table?
