Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!
Psalm 126:5
I used to carry tissues in my Bible cover for baby drool, emergency spills, and my teary-eyed parental- pride during CHRISTmas programs. I still carry tissues there for a touching sermon, an unexpected blessing of encouragement, a favorite hymn, or even tears of joy. Regardless of the reason for using the tissues, I knew they would always be there.
Always be there — just like Jesus. He’s steadfast to hear our cries for help, and he’s faithful to carry the burdens we cast upon him. Jesus is attentive to both our deepest sorrows and thrilling elations. In uncertain times, I cling to Psalm 130:5b “...and in His word I hope;” The Bible is the best place to find comfort and hope ... and you might need a tissue, too!

Compassionate Jesus, thank you hearing my heartfelt cries. Amen.
Reflect: Tuck a tissue in your Bible, and let Jesus soften your heart.
