Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2
Our Lord, Jesus, did not move about ordering people around. The goal for his ministry and life was to help people live in this world with a divine purpose. He did not threaten. He did not put others down. He did not belittle. And he did not use power to get people to live as he wanted them to live. His restraint was remarkable. His understanding of the anguish in the lives of others was remarkable. History tells us, and more importantly, Jesus tells us too, “bear one another’s burdens.” Work at understanding what others are going through. Know their hurt and their pain. Most of us have first-hand experience of hurt, pain, and failure. Find a way to reflect the love of Jesus by bearing the burdens of others.

Dear God, help us to be more like Jesus by bearing the burdens of others. Amen.
Reflect: Ponder how Jesus forgave and helped others, rather than condemning them.
