... for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.
Philippians 4:11
Recently I told a friend that I was envious of her ability to sit at a sewing machine and make a gift or repair a piece of clothing. She laughed and replied, “That’s funny! Last Sunday I thought to myself, I wish I could play the piano and make music like she does.”
God has blessed us with our own unique gifts and talents. Some are obvious and some are often hidden. We may wish we could do something, but God has chosen to give us a different gift. And they all are to be used to God’s glory!
In Philippians 4, Paul states he has learned to be “content in all circumstances” which is a message to us today. In a world of choices, God wants us to be content in what he feels is best for us. And give God the glory!

Gracious Father, thank you for the many gifts and talents you have given to us as your people. Help us to use them to your glory! Amen.
Reflect: Make a list of the gifts God has given to you. Offer a prayer of thanks for each one.
