Balancing Act

When you walk, your step will not be hampered, and if you run, you will not stumble.

Proverbs 4:12

Watching my granddaughters grow reminds me that growing can sometimes be problematic. For example, just as they mastered walking, a growth spurt would affect their equilibrium and they would start stumbling all over again. As we age, we may experience similar problems. For instance, just when we think we’ve mastered using our smart TV’s, new technology suddenly has us calling our children or grandchildren for help again.

Whether young or old, growing in any way can be a real balancing act. Still, when it comes to growing as a disciple of Jesus, there is no age limit! It’s not always easy, but when we stumble, we can seek God’s wisdom and call on him for help. Relying on him, we will be able to accomplish great things for his Kingdom.

Sandi Geis
St. Louis, MO

Help me, Lord, not to shy away from growing in my faith and service to you. Hold my hand and help me take the next step. Amen.

Reflect: Keep your balance by seeking God’s help through his word and prayer.
