... You will receive the unfading crown of glory.
1 Peter 5:4
As followers of Jesus, we have been given a crown by our father, as promised in Psalm 103:4; “He crowns you with steadfast love and mercy ...”
A crown like ours makes us eager to share our resurrection life — to witness the joy we have in Jesus’ victory over sin and death.
When our team wins, we literally jump for joy. Do we wear our victory crowns like that? Like we just obtained our freedom from a long confinement and received “a prize like no other?” Isaiah says it well, “I will greatly rejoice in the lord; my soul shall exult in my God” (Isaiah 61:10).
That is the whole idea of wearing our crown — witnessing for all to see what steadfast love and mercy really is!

Lord, help us show that we are wearing our crowns by the joy with which we love and serve. Amen.
Reflect: Your victory in Christ is real! Show it!
