... under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

Psalm 91:4

Good friends are a blessing, yet we know that humans, no matter how well-intentioned, are imperfect and fallible.

God, however, is faithful ALL the time. God does not lie. He is our refuge.

God preserved faithful Noah and his family in the flood; he led and protected the Israelites with a cloud and a column of fire; he rescued Daniel from the lion’s den; Jesus healed, preached, taught, and forgave sinners ... and with steadfast love even as he died on the cross, Jesus entrusted his mother Mary to John and John to Mary to comfort them (John 19:26-27).

Never think that God is different today. You are God’s precious child, and he says to YOU: “behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).

Denise Seaman

Lord, help us hold fast to your promises of faith, hope, and love. Amen.

Reflect: Think how God’s promise of love and mercy brings joy and comfort.

Read: Hebrews 6:17-20 and Isaiah 12:2
