[God] comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction ...
2 Corinthians 1:4
“Lord, how can you use this? How can I help others who feel isolated, frustrated, and overwhelmed?” That was the cry of my heart after almost twenty years as a caregiver for my husband. I knew God had used our circumstances to help us and could also use them to help others.
I had written articles, devotions, and poems, but the gnawing feeling of something more continued. Finally, someone suggested social media reels. After years of caregiving, I had plenty of tips — lessons learned, suggestions received, and more than my share of mistakes, so I began taping weekly “Caregiver Tips.” That has led to several unexpected opportunities including sharing with new caregiving friends who have now walked their loved ones home to heaven.

Lord, thank you for the privilege of helping others on their caregiving journeys. Amen.
Reflect: Consider how God can use your hard times to help others.
