How are your choirs selected and who selects the songs?
The choirs are selected based on a combination of choirs that we invite to come into our studio and some that contact us (whether on tour or making a special stop with us). The hymns are selected through a variety of ways. Sometimes, our pastors will request a specific hymn for that program, but otherwise, our team is using liturgical resources to select the most appropriate hymn to go with that program. Most of our Worship Anew programs have the hymn of the day that many Lutheran churches will use in their worship services around the world.
What days do you have pastors record?
We usually tape our programs on the first and third Tuesdays of the month with a break for Advent and Lent. We occasionally film on other days when a guest pastor is in or if we have to reschedule a production.
What version of the Bible do we use?
With few exceptions, we use the English Standard Version (ESV) on our Worship Anew program, in this Broadcaster magazine, and also in our Hope-Full Living devotions. The ESV was first published in 2001 by Crossway and was created by a team of more than 100 leading evangelical scholars and pastors. It’s been widely accepted by many Christian denominations and is the version that’s currently used in the latest Lutheran Study Bible.
Can I get Hope-Full Living in large print?
Yes! We have partnered with Lutheran Braille Workers to produce a large print edition of our quarterly devotion written for seniors, by seniors. Though all of our devotions are printed in a large(r) type, all the large print materials from LBW are printed using an 18-point font on durable non-glare vanilla paper. To receive Hope-Full Living in large print, or many other Christian large print materials, call LBW at 800-925-6092, email at lbw@lbwloveworks.org, or fill out a form for materials at www.lbwloveworks.org.
