Your Purpose for Living

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth ...

Colossians 1:16

I was created by God who put me on this earth. The question is why am I living?

Do you have an answer? Here is one that I found in Acts 4:13 “When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized they had been with Jesus.” I pictured Peter and John as reflectors of Jesus, and that made me think of a mirror. I walked through my house and found 12 mirrors. But then I realized that I missed two — the two people that live in my house.

God has placed me on this earth to be a mirror. This is not just a reflection of who I am, but who God is and what he has done for me and all human beings. We are to be mirrors of God.

Ken Holdorf
Frisco, TX

Thank you, Lord, for giving me the purpose of reflecting who you are. Amen.

Reflect: Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all? Continue to bless me to be a mirror of Jesus.

Read: Matthew 28:16-20 and Romans 12:1-8
