“… Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.”
Revelation 1:17-18
How many times have you muttered the words of this devotion’s title? What would happen if the “wrong” person found the key before you did? What treasures lie behind the locked door? The Holy Spirit gave you the Key to God’s Kingdom. You can lose it on purpose or misplace it by temptations, but it can’t be taken from you — no matter how weak you might feel. It was an unusual key — made of water and the Word. Your baptism gifted you with the ability to be a part of His Kingdom. Also important is the key to Satan’s domain. Jesus keeps the devil locked in. And while He hasn’t tossed away the key quite yet, Jesus has limited Satan from stealing into your “room” to take away your key.
Praise God; and don’t go anywhere without your key.

Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me the Key to Your kingdom. Help me never to misplace it. Amen.
Reflect: What temptations threaten me to misplace the Key?
