… for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness …
Isaiah 61:10
Take a good look at yourself right now. What clothing, jewelry, or hairstyle are you wearing? What does it say about you? We know that others may judge us by what we wear, and some people put great value in their appearance.
There is only one thing we wear that really matters — the robe of righteousness, a gift from God. In your Baptism, you were washed clean with water and the Word then covered with righteousness which can only come from God. He has clothed you with the garments of salvation through the work of Jesus Christ. You are a member of God’s holy family.
Because of this special gift, we can rest easy, knowing there is nothing we can do or wear to earn our salvation. We already have it.

Dear Jesus, thank You for being righteous on my behalf and making it possible for me to receive the gift of salvation. Amen.
Reflect: Look in the mirror and say aloud, “Jesus died for me. I am God’s own child. I am saved.”
