For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance.
Matthew 25:29a
My church sponsors a village in Honduras. A donation table provides an opportunity for members to contribute items others can purchase. The money obtained is designated for this project. Ninety-year-old Mrs. Virginia sews tirelessly to create handcrafted treasures for this need to help these precious people. Jesus illustrated the correct use of our abilities with a parable. Two servants increased their master’s income while one did nothing out of fear. As we age, we may feel we have nothing left to offer. We may be tired, handicapped, or homebound. But we shouldn’t fear we are useless. We may not be as talented as Mrs. Virginia, but we can make phone calls, write cards, or cook a meal for a hungry person. When we offer from what we have been given, our reward will be an abundance of joy.

Dear Jesus, thank You for Your promise of a supply I can draw from to bless someone else. Amen.
Reflect: Ask God for ideas to use to relieve the hardships of another person.
