For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Philippians 2:13
Can you think of a time when you eagerly arose on a Sunday morning and went to church with a grateful heart? Or a birthday when you thanked God for bringing you through another year of life? Maybe it was joyfully attending the Baptism of a new grandchild. God did that. When we approach our heavenly Father with joy and thankfulness, He is pleased, and He is the source of our actions as well.
Every day we get to hand God our problems, our sadness, our reluctance to serve, our selfish desires, and turn Him loose to work in us.
For it is God who works in us both to desire and to do His good pleasure.

Heavenly Father, work Your good will in me this day that I may serve with gladness and a thankful heart. Amen.
Reflect: Remember that God creates the desire both to will and to work for Him.
